The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning for the entire Hudson Valley area.

Because of high winds and dry conditions there is the possibility of "extreme fire conditions" throughout our area for Tuesday, April 19. According to the alert, critical fire weather conditions will be in effect from noon through 6PM today. the combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warmer than usual temperatures call all contribute to the danger of brush fires that could quickly escalate.

The Hudson Valley is being warned about the potential for critical fire conditions so that they can take precautions and be on the lookout for any fires before they become out of control.

The red flag warning replaces the fire weather watch that was previously issued.

Expect to see wind gusts of up to 30mph and humidity levels as low as 20 percent throughout most of the Hudson Valley area. These conditions are why the National Weather Service has issued the alert.

The hazardous weather conditions are expect to end by tomorrow.
