This week I've been blogging about the house fire we had on November 1.  It is a way for me to talk about it, and some people seemed interested in hearing the story.  I can't believe it's been less than two weeks.  Sometimes it seems like forever ago.  On the other hand, I can't believe it's already two weeks.  Sometimes it feels like yesterday.

Remember how your mom used to say, always make sure you wear clean underwear in case you are  in an accident?  Well, my mother did.  Here's some new advice.  If you haven't used in in three years, get rid of it.  Give it to someone who can use it.  Clean out periodically.  Because if you ever have a fire, you'll be sorting stuff for weeks.  And some of it will be ruined.  So if you think holding on to something because you might need it someday is a good idea, think again.  Chances are if the day comes that you do need it, you won't be able to find it anyway.  We had eight bags of Christmas decorations.  And I'm Jewish, and Bobby hates decorations.  Go figure.  I'd like to think our over collecting days are done.

The clean up is going well thanks to the Servpro crew.  They even got Bobby to give up things I never thought he'd let go of.  Like a bunch of broken speakers, some obsolete electronics, and his beloved Kirby vacuum that weighed a zillion pounds.  I'm not sure what happens next, but I'm taking the weekend off from blogging.  Monday's blog?  Why we are the luckiest people I know.
