A local Martial Arts School is opening up their doors and giving you the chance to kick a board into pieces.

The Kick-A-Thon event is happening on Saturday, April 29 at Kwon's Martial Arts on Vassar Road in Poughkeepsie. The unique event invites anyone to stop by for the opportunity to kick or hit a wooden board, breaking it in two.

The event will serve as a fundraiser for The Children's Home of Poughkeepsie. Every $3 donation gets you a board that you can break with proceeds going directly to the kids at the Children's Home.

There will also be food available as well as raffles and door prizes. Students at Kwon's Martial Arts have also been raising funds by selling Easter chocolate. The community event is open to everyone and will take place between 11am and 3pm.

There's no need to reserve a time, just stop by and get out some frustration by kicking a board in half, all the while helping out a great cause. Kwon's Martial Arts is on Vassar Road and Route 9 between Burger King and Raymour & Flanigan.
