A Guide to Hudson Valley Celebrations on Free Comic Book Day

Stores throughout the Hudson Valley will be rolling out the red carpet this Saturday with giveaways, character appearances and free comics for everyone.

May 2 is Free Comic Book Day. It’s the one day a year when the comic book industry shares their love of comics by giving them away for free!  The first Free Comic Book Day was held in 2002 and since then millions of free comics have been given away to fans both new and old.

The Dragon's Den in Poughkeepsie will celebrate Free Comic Book Day with an appearance by Darth Vader and Stormtroopers along with Spiderman and the Ghostbusters of Rochester. There will also be a gathering of members from the U.S.S.Henry Hudson, Poughkeepsie's newest Star Trek fan club.
