A Beer That will get you Excited About IPAs Again

It seems like everyone is brewing IPAs. And although its a popular style of beer, drinking so many IPAs can get a little boring. Luckily there's a local IPA that will reignite your excitement about the style.

Randy from Blue Collar Brewery stopped by to introduce us to their Brewer's Reserve IPA. It's the Unfiltered Zythos #3, their third specialty IPA in a series. Because Blue Collar purchases specific batches of hops, the ingredients in their IPAs change from time to time. Their third offering uses Zythos Hops and has a pretty big bite.

the #3 IPA is medium bodied but has plenty of hop bitterness. You'll notice some caramel and toffee notes along with a pleasant citrus hop aroma. The beer comes in at 7%abv, and has a IBU of 82. IBU stands for International Bittering Units and rates how bitter the beer is. The average IPA clocks in around 40 to 70 IBUs.
