Two Ulster County farmers have each been sentence to nine months in jail for their roles in connection to a major cockfighting ring, dubbed "Operation Angry Birds"

CBS 6 reports, that 71-year old farm owner Moises Cruz, and 60-year old manager Manuel Cruz both plead guilty to violating the state prohibition against animal fighting. The men put their plea in last year.

The men had 4,000 birds taken from their farm in Plattekill, and the birds had to be euthanized because of disease and their aggressive nature.

The men were arrested as a result of a Queens raid last February. Dozens of others were also detained and many plead guilty to the felony.
