Thursday marks the 13th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. Municipalities and organizations across the Hudson Valley will hold memorial services and remembrances in recognition of the momentous day.

Goshen

Orange County will hold its September 11th Patriot Day Ceremony at the Orange County Arboretum at Thomas Bull Memorial Park at 5PM. The ceremony will honor the memory of the 44 Orange County residents who died on 9/11 as well as pay tribute to military personnel.

Hyde Park

Hyde Park will hold a candle light ceremony at the Paul Tegtmeier Memorial Site at Hackett Hill Park. The event begins at 6:30PM with the opening ceremony commencing 7PM. A fire truck will be accepting food donations on site for Food Fight for Vets and Claudio Cares Foundation.

City of Kingston

The Kingston Fire Department, along with several area fire departments, will hold a ceremony at Fireman’s Park at Washington and Hurley avenues at 8:30AM, according to the Daily Freeman. A breakfast at the Wiltwyck Firehouse will follow.

City of Poughkeepsie

The City of Poughkeepsie will have a groundbreaking ceremony for its new 9/11 Memorial Park on the lawn next to City Hall at 4PM. The Kiwanis Club of Poughkeepsie has secured two beams from the World Trade Center, which will be installed in the park, according to the city's website.

Town of Ulster

The Town of Ulster's five fire companies will hold a ceremony at Robert A. Post Park at 10AM, according to the Daily Freeman. Members of the Ulster County Sheriff's Office will place a wreath in the Hudson River at 10:28AM, which is the moment 2 World Trade Center fell.

Town of Wappinger

The Town of Wappinger will hold a ceremony at 8:30AM at Sgt. Mark Palmateer Park, located at the corner of Route 9 and Old Hopewell Road.
