Sometimes beer needs to go where beer isn't allowed. How many of these Hudson Valley places have you sneaked a drink?

The Drive In
Sometimes a movie is just more enjoyable while drinking a beer. While it's kind of hard to sneak a drink into the mall movie theater, bringing a six pack to the drive-in is pretty easy. And the Hudson Valley is lucky to have plenty of drive-in theaters to choose from. Of course, if you're the one behind the wheel it's a better idea to stick to a soda.

Kayaking on the Hudson River
Quenching your thirst while calmly paddling around in a kayak seems like something out of a dream. Those more experienced in these matters swear that tying a rope to a six-pack of your favorite beverage and towing them behind as you go keeps them at perfect temperature. Of course, safety comes first and kayaking dangerous waters while impaired is just a recipe for disaster, so be smart and responsible.

Fireworks
Drinking in public spaces is pretty much frowned on, but when you're sitting around for hours waiting to watch fireworks no one can blame you for packing along a few beers to pass the time. We've heard rumors that filling a collapsable camping chair with cans works pretty good at remaining discrete.

Concert in the Park
What's a beautiful night with live music without a good beer or two? I really don't know anyone who's ever been busted for bringing some drinks to one of the many concerts in the park that are offered every summer throughout the Hudson Valley. Just be careful if you happen to be at a site operated by the National Park Service. Federal crimes are not fun.

Snow Shoveling
While it's perfectly legal to drink on your own property that doesn't mean your family is all that happy you're putting a few back while you're supposed to be clearing the driveway. Of course you could use the old "viking method" and throw some beers out in the snow before you start where they'll stay nice and cold and undercover, waiting to reward you after the job is done.

Trick Or Treating
I always wondered why those parents in my neighborhood were so happy to be following their kids from house to house in the cold. Then I realized those coffee cups weren't filled with coffee after all.  Here's a tip, don't forget the wagon. It'll hold all of that candy and any refills you may need so you don't have to keep running back to the house.

Chopping Down the Christmas Tree
Some Christmas tree farms turn a blind eye to tailgating. In fact, some even encourage families to come out and spend the whole day drinking and eating before chopping down the perfect tree. Other places, however, aren't as cool about it. But with all of those layers it's pretty easy to head on into the woods with any provisions you need to make the day a festive one. You just might want to wait to celebrate the season too much until after you've used the saw.

Of course, there are plenty of other places that are perfect to enjoy a nice refreshing beer, regardless of the rules. Have you ever sneaked a drink somewhere it wasn't allowed? Let us know in the comments section below or on our Facebook page.
