If you’ve ever dreamed of being a casino dealer, well you are now in luck. Over 600 jobs are available at a local casino, with free training available and no experience necessary.

Resorts World Catskills in the Town of Thompson expects to hire 600 dealers before the casino opens in March of 2018.

“The construction of this casino is critically important to the economic development of the Hudson Valley,” Ulster County Executive Mike Hein said. “The invisible boundaries between counties should not stand in the way of helping our residents and communities prosper.”

Resorts World Catskills will also operate three casino dealer schools, one in each of Sullivan, Orange and Ulster counties. The dealer schools will be used to train people to enable them to apply for table games dealer positions at Resorts World Catskills.

The schools will be located in Monticello, Stewart Airport and Ellenville. All table game classes will be free of charge.

“Creating good paying jobs was the initial objective of the Upstate NY Gaming Economic Development Act, and after years of waiting we are close to realizing this important goal,” Charles Degliomini, Executive Vice President of Empire Resorts, Inc., parent of the owner and operator of Resorts World Catskills said.

Prior to the opening of the dealer schools, Resorts World Catskills will hold free information sessions at the following locations:

  • Orange County - Goshen
    When: 7 p.m., Monday, Aug. 14
Where: Orange County Emergency Services Center, 22 Wells Farm Road
  • Ulster County – Ellenville
    When: 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 6
Where: Ellenville High School Auditorium, 28 Maple Ave.

People who register for dealer school will be provided with 20 hours of training per week, for at least six weeks, in games such as blackjack, poker, baccarat and roulette. Additional training will be required for more complex games.

Once training is completed, you can apply for table game dealer positions.
