Car thermometers showed temperatures over 80 degrees in the Hudson Valley today. We have five quick suggestions for ways to take advantage of these freakishly early Spring conditions.

Take down the snow sticks and reflectors
Some may think it's bad luck and that taking down those snow sticks will guarantee we get hit with 2 feet of accumulations next week. But unless you're really superstitious, it's pretty safe to say that we're not going to need them anymore. Even if we somehow do get a little snow, with the ground this warm it's not going to stay around long enough to shovel.

Put some screens in and open those windows
Your house stinks. We don't mean that in a bad way, but it's been a long winter, and most likely the windows have been shut the whole time. Grab those screens, put them in and let the air inside. You'll be surprised how quickly a little fresh air will make your house feel almost new again.

Turn on the outside faucet
The only chance of freezing temperatures is Friday, where the lows will be right around 32. There's no fear of your pipes freezing anymore, so turn those outside faucets back on and maybe you'll be inspired to wash your car or even start watering those bulbs that are getting an early start for Spring.

Go grab an ice cream
Most of the seasonal ice cream stands are still closed, but there are still plenty of places to grab a cone and sit outside. Places like Cold Stone Creamery, Carvel and the three-thousand new frozen yogurt places that popped up last year are most likely open for business. Sitting outside with some ice cream is a great way to take advantage of today's record temps.

Take a hike
While you probably don't have time to head over to Mohonk after work today, a quick walk on one of the rail trails or even the Walkway Over The Hudson should shake out some of those cobwebs. If there's no time for that, how about a stroll around the neighborhood. It's a good excuse to catch up with those neighbors down the block that you haven't spoken to since you were out raking in September.

Of course, there are plenty of other things that people in the Hudson Valley just can't wait to tackle now that the weather has turned. We want to know how you're celebrating. Are you grilling dinner tonight? Grabbing a beer on the deck? Or just happy to be rocking out to your favorite song on the radio with the car windows rolled down? Let us know how you're having fun today in the comments section below.
