A 4-year old autistic boy from White Plains, NY who disappeared from his grandmother's house in South Carolina on Christmas Eve has been found dead, according to officials.

The body of Jayden Morrison, was found around 11 am Friday in a pond behind two house in Little River, which is not far from where he went missing.

Hundreds of emergency workers searched through Christmas day, looking for the boy. His mother had left him at his grandmother's house on Christmas eve as she ran to Wal-Mart. The grandmother turned her back for a second and the boy was gone.

Divers searched a 5-square mile area near the home, and drones helicopters, and 4-wheelers were all used in the search.

He was discovered still wearing his pajamas, by a medic volunteer.

The family arrived at their grandmother's house on Christmas eve from New York, according to the boy's mother Tabitha Morrison. She said on Thursday: "He's never been out of our eyesight, he's never walked out of the door before," the mother said with tears in her eyes. "And they've searched everywhere. Where could he be?"

Also according to Tabitha Morrison, her son was non-communicative so he would not likely find his way home, especially not knowing his grandmother's neighborhood.

The mother also added that that boy's twin brother Jordan stayed up until 4 am Christmas morning waiting for his brother to return. The boy's father also joined the search/
