Three men from New York City, including one that is a teenager, were arrested by New Paltz Police for possession of drugs near SUNY New Paltz.

On Monday morning around 6:30 a.m. New Paltz police pulled off a car driven by Kirk A. Aspinall, 25, of East Elmhurst, for a traffic violation on Main Street and near Huguenot Street in the Village of New Paltz. 23-year-old Kareem A. Wilson and 18-year-old Tajai J. Holman, both from East Elmhurst, were passengers in the car driven by Aspinall.

During the traffic stop the officer learned that the three men were in possession of around 7 ounces of marijuana, 112 Xanax pills, a scale, drug packaging material, and cash.

All three were arrested and charged with; 5th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony. 7th degree criminal possession of a controlled substance,  a misdemeanor, and 4th-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor.

All three were remanded to Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000.00 cash bail, $10,000.00 bond. They are scheduled to return to New Paltz Court for a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.

The police are continuing their investigation and additional charges are pending.
