If you, or any of your friends and family, live in Ulster County, the place to be this Wednesday is the Ulster County Regional Chamber of Commerce 'Buy Local Expo' from noon until five at the Diamond Mills Hotel and Conference Center in Saugerties.

Why you ask? Because at this year's expo, the Ulster County Comptroller Elliot Auerbach, with help from the New York State Office of the State Comptroller, will be on hand to help area residents see if they are entitled to any of the $14 billion from the 35 million unclaimed fund accounts currently in New York State.

This money could be unclaimed because of closed bank accounts, unknown insurance policies, even payroll checks that were never cashed, as hard as that is to believe.

The Buy Local Expo is free and open to the public and there will be staff on hand to help direct you and assist you in finding out if you are owed any of these unclaimed funds. Plus, you'll also get to see some of the many great businesses in Ulster county and sign-up for some of their raffles and door prizes.

It could be a win-win day. Good luck!
