Talk about a speed trap!  DOT records show that 1,551 tickets were given out on one single street on July 7, 2014 equaling over $77,000 in fines.  The New York Post reports that the camera is located in Brooklyn at the end of an exit ramp near Ocean Parkway.

While some are applauding the abundance of tickets as a safety improvement, others believe that it's just a high-tech speed trap. Since the beginning of 2014 over 83,000 tickets have been issued in the New York City area bringing in about $9.2 million in fines.

What do you think?  Is this a deterrent to unsafe driving or just a way to bring in more money from taxpayers?
