10 arrested in Orange County Drug Bust
Ten Orange County residents were arrested after police allegedly seized heroin, crack cocaine, a weed plant and more.
On Thursday, members of the City of Newburgh Police Department, Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force and New York State Police conducted a narcotics operation on Johnston Street in the City of Newburgh to address a number of complaints from residents.
During the operation, officers found seven grams of crack cocaine, 81 individually wrapped baggies of heroin, one large marijuana plant and approximately $1,900, police say.
As a result, 23-year-old Kiaje Paulk and 34-year-old Preshea Fennell, both from the City of Newburgh, were both charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and criminal sale of a controlled substance, felonies.
Brian Backus, 46, 52-year-old Daniel Coughlan, 58-year-old Bernadette Walters, Anthony Luogameno, 57, 55-year-old Richard Kyles, all from Newburgh, and 26-year-old David Rotondo of Walden were all charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor.
Tyrik Legette, 24, of Newburgh was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. 24-year-old Taylor Bradford, who was also arrested on an undisclosed charge, was found to have an active Orange County Probation Warrant, police say.
